This is my second attempt on portrait drawing and certainly won't be the last... now that I found out a better and effective technique that work, at least for me :). Her name is Amanda by the way and I'd like to keep that as the title for this piece as well.
The facial outline was traced on a raster layer then C/P as a new image. Coloring was done using mainly PAINT BRUSH tool at varying OPACITY and SIZES, and with HARDNESS (very important in blending) set to 1 all throughout. INK DROPPER was used to pick the color from the original image. As always, the eyes are the most difficult to work on for me so I had to work on each eye on separate layers. The lips, hair, hand, and the final detailing were also done on separate layers. GAUSSIAN BLUR effect was also used at some points to blend the colors
And just a note: (1)The unfinished look was intentional. (2)Because of endless clicking, I had to deal with 5-7 frustrating computer crashes... so my advice is to set your PSP AUTO SAVE option to 1 minute (very important!) if you'll be working on a project for long hours and if you use the UNDO function often.
