This piece was based from the movie title (and I mean just the title) Along Came a Spider. I can point to any object in the drawing and make it my focal point but I'd like to focus on describing the spider as this is where I used most of the textures.
The body, head and legs were drawn on three separate layers using the Point-to-Point Selector. The body was colored with Paintbrush tool using a Sunburst orange/yellow Gradient then applied with Brush Stroke Effects three times. The head was colored with Paintbrush tool (with Build Up option checked) using a dark yellow/gray Foreground-Background color and Cracked Cement/Aspalt paper texture. Legs are colored in the same way as the head using yellow and dark red Foreground-Background color. All edges were softened using Smudge (retouch) tool before the were merged. The hairs were added as a final touch using Paintbrush tool size 1 and with opacity varying from 20 to 70.
For the other objects, all the keys on keyboard are done using 2 layers of Preset Shape (rounded rectangle)--first with radial gradient, and second with linear gradient. The paper clips, pencil and pen were drawn using the Drawing tool.
