LINEAR AND RADIAL

Quick and easy Keyboard drawing using LINEAR and RADIAL gradients.

REQUIREMENTS: PSP6 or 7.

PART I
1. Open NEW IMAGE, Background=Transparent, Width=200, Height=200, and Resolution=72. For the purpose of this tutorial, I used a gray background just to show the image more clearly.

2. Click on PRESET SHAPE Tool. From the OPTION pannel (click "O" key), select ROUND RECTANGLE, check ANTIALIAS and Create as VECTOR.
3. On the COLOR pallet, set FILL color to gradient, STROKE color to null.

4. Select RADIAL from the GRADIENT pannel. Click EDIT and follow the example setting on the right. Make sure the orientation of the gradient is similar to the one encircled. If not, select LINEAR gradient and adjust the angle by rotating the GRADIENT ARM or entering a value for the ANGLE. For the example here, the angle value is 315. Now select RADIAL gradient again and see if you got the right orientation. Re-adjust angle if necessary.
5. Now, start drawing.
PART II
6. On the COLOR pallet, set FILL and STROKE color to gradient.

7. For the FILL color, select LINEAR from the GRADIENT pannel. Click EDIT and follow the example setting on the right.

8. For the STROKE color, follow the same setting as for the FILL (you should be able to find it when you click the drop-down arrow). Rotate the gradient angle so that the arm points to the opposite direction of the FILL setting. Or simply make sure that the dark shade of color for FILL and STROKE are on the opposite corners (bottom-right and top-left respectively).
9. Draw a slightly smaller round square on top of the first drawing (from Part I).

10. Add the text. Standard Arial font was used in this example. Adjust text size proportionate to the drawing you made.
